We provide information about drug and alcohol usage in Queensland from our research.

We provide alcohol breathalyser testing across the evening so people can appreciate their inebriation levels.

We obtain people's predictions of what they will 'blow' and relate this to the course of the evening and their alcohol use history.

Engagement with the public is a core duty of Queensland Police. Explaining what they do and why they do it can demistify their presence - particularly in the night time entertainment districts.

Corey is Chief Inspector of police for the North Brisbane District. He has been the Officer In Charge for both the Brisbane City police station and the Valley police station and has also run the Qld Police Academy. Corey has been researching de-escalation strategies, and drug and alcohol harm reduction since 2014.

Grant is a Professor of Psychology at Griffith University. He is a clinical psychologist and has expertise in the night time economy, drug and alcohol services and treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He has been working with Corey since 2014.

Imogene is a fourth year psychology student who is studying the effects of alcohol training in university colleges. She is conducting her honours thesis with Grant and Corey and you may occassionally see her in the Valley breathalysing volunteers as part of other research.
All of our research is conducted confidentially and anonymously. People do not ‘have’ to take part in our research products and we will still offer free breathalyser testing.
